Leadership is all about choice. We understand that you have a choice you are considering now and we want to help you make the right decision for you. Our goal is to support your healthcare leadership quest, so we encourage you to think this one through.

When you joined our Community, you made a decision to invest in your development. Do you remember your reasons for doing so?

In our time working with healthcare leaders, we have seen people give up on their dreams and goals. We don’t want you to have to do the same.

So below we have a few common reasons for people wanting to quit development opportunities. If one of these applies to you, we have some suggestions. And if you still want to leave our Community, we will support you to do so.

“I just don’t have time right now…”

Ok, we get it. Time seems so limited these days. If you’ve had a chance to do our Coaching course, we talk about time being a common hurdle to get started with coaching. And then we explain that it doesn’t have to be a big formal event, it can be done in less than 5 minutes. AND, by empowering your team to think for themselves, it will save you time in the long-run.

So a question – do you have five minutes a week to devote to your development? Do you have 10? What’s the minimum time you have to invest in your future? Once you decide that, we have lots of short modules, podcasts, and activities that could be suitable. You could even download a workbook of interest and use the reflection questions, without watching the video.

There are loads of ways you could enjoy your membership in short bite-sized pieces that are more manageable for your life right now. We will even help you with suggested activities, approach or schedule to save you time. “I feel like I’ve got so much to learn, it’s just too hard at the moment…”

All leaders feel this way from time to time. The thing is, we all have to start somewhere, and we will always be learning! Great leaders incorporate learning into their everyday. Rather than letting learning needs overwhelm them, they choose acceptance and action. They accept that they have things to learn, and that “Rome wasn’t built in a day”. So they take action, they start with one small thing. They embrace the strengths they do have, and commit to gaining new ones. One thing a day, or a week, or a month.

“I don’t want to spend the money right now…”

We have all been there – tight budgets, money concerns. Although we wish we could take away this issue, we have limited super powers!

We’ve all had to look for money and sacrifice in different ways. Whether it’s getting rid of paid/cable TV (what?!) forgoing take-out meals or not being able to invest in development. It’s all about finding what the priorities are, and where the reasonable sacrifices can come from.
